#6: "Radio Yes Radio" February 7, 2005 Special Guest : Rat Scabies
I'm going to be really crass and comment about this show, something I don't usually do here. Why? This is hands down one of the best broadcasts of Harmony In My Head ever, in my not so humble opinion. Normally, I would dispatch my drivel directly to Henry, but I have resolved not to email him at all anymore because if I do ever get to meet him, I don't want him to cross himself and run in the other direction when he sees me coming. Also, I've been sick the last few days, so cabin fever has driven me a little crazy.
What was so great about this show? The atmosphere is different, we get to hear the wonderful, velvety tones of Rat Scabies (we even get to hear him blow his nose), there's a really charming breakdown at one point where the wrong song is queued up and we get to hear what Engineer X sounds like very briefly (from the little I could hear, he sounds like he's a fox), Henry is absolutely giddy with enthusiasm throughout, and the songs played were excellent (tracks 5, 6, 7, 8, 11, 15 and 16 especially). To listen to this show, it's very hard to reconcile what you hear with the fact that within a few short days, Henry will be turning 45, and not 18, years old. Overall, an excellent show and I'm so happy to have it here for all of you who would otherwise never get to hear it. The shows will be re-broadcast later in the week. No doubt due to excitement, Henry forgot the time and day that this will be occurring. Next week's show will be a new show, but a pre-taped one. I'm a little sad that Henry won't be spending the aftermath of his birthday on the air with us listeners, but oh, well. Anyway, if you download this show, please leave comments, people!! I can't wait to hear what you all think of this one.
One last thing, will someone please listen to this show with earphones and tell me if they don't hear someone making little belching noises during "TV Eye"? It may just be my current bout with "acute otitis media" causing me to suffer from auditory hallucinations.
Good night and thank you.

This show was awesome! Opening with Iggy is always excellent; I think you're right about the background noise on TV Eye. Thank you for putting this on the 'net!

Tara, I agree, this does have to rate as one of the best shows, possibly the very best. Hope you feel better soon, and thanks again for making the files available.

You're right--- the show was fantastic-- definitely one of the best so far.....
PS-- I've been meaning to drop you a line for weeks now, but at any rate: thanks a zillion for making all of these shows available-- I missed out on the 2004 shows, so it's amazing being able to listen to all of them now.... All I listen to during work now is HIMH, thanks to you. You're awesome.

Tara, Thank you for doing this. I noticed you ran out of bandwidth last month. Have you looked into Bittorrent. If a lot of people are downloading the shows, this may help on bandwidth.

You're right, it was probably the most amazing show yet. And just because I've loved The Damned since I was 13 and Henry since I was 15 doesn't mean I'm biased!!!! =)
As with everyone else here, I really appreciate all the work you put into the archives. Thanks.

THANK YOU so much for putting all these shows up. Especially this one with Rat Scabies. I left the west coast a few months ago, and have been lacking in good radio. If you want a good compliment to Henry's show that happens on Saturday night, check out the Swami. He broacasts out of San Diego. His site also has a GREAT interview that Henry did.
