Iggy said "eskimo", Henry has jetlag, and Bark Bark Bark is somehow supposed to sound less "gay" than a name. Warm jets and golden showers, who knew? Here's completely different something that we know: Mark E. Smith is a freak. Is there ever a story of him being normal?
Thanks, Henry, for reminding us what a sharp guy Zappa was. All hail Frank Zappa for going on Crossfire in 1986 and sayin' it like it is!! It doesn't take a crystal ball, just a pair of open eyes. Watch the waxy-haired douche bag next to him froth vigorously, giving no thought at all to the real causes of what he sees as an attack on American families and dodging any questions on just who should yield the yardstick on what is proper and what isn't. Ah, if only Zappa was still around today...

conv442 said... If Frank was still with us, I'd have figured out how to get a grass roots effort out there to have him elected to the Presidency. Since he isn't and I know that Henry doesn't want the White House, how about we get an effort started for either Carlos Mencia or George Carlin for pres and Henry as VP????? - Wed Jun 06, 09:00:00 PM EDT

Angela said... I second that! What should we call the party? Can we get Jon Stewart to be the Press Secretary so he can make those hilarious faces at the Press Corps the whole time? No words, just faces, that's all he needs! I'd also like to nominate Lewis Black for something. I hear there's an opening at the World Bank. - Wed Jun 06, 09:46:00 PM EDT

Mark said... Thank you so much for this, Angela! I was looking at the collection, and this is the 100th radio show Henry has done, including that time he filled in for the morning show in 2005. - Thu Jun 07, 08:27:00 AM EDT

Angela said... Really? That's great. Thanks for letting us know. I only have the one recording from the morning show fill-in that I inherited from Tara, but if I get the others I'll post them. Now that you reminded me, I think I know who has that... Thu Jun 07, 01:08:00 PM EDT

Stuart said... Angela, I have the whole morning show i shall dig it out of backups and get it to you. I think i have promised this before but forgot , just keep reminding me. I thought i had sent it to Tara as well. - Thu Jun 07, 04:13:00 PM EDT

Anonymous said... Hi Angela, just wanted to say thanx for keeping the archive up to date, it keeps me getting musically educated :) and was also wondering if anyone, somehow, has the 2004 and 2006 annotated playlists saved and would like to share? Cheers, Ana - Mon Jun 11, 07:35:00 PM EDT

Angela said... No prob, Ana! I've zipped the notes from 2004 & 2006 as I have them from the website. You can download that here. Please note that an expanded, corrected, and otherwise inspected version of the 2004 notes is available as a book titled "Fanatic!". It also has great images of album covers, posters, and other photos in it. I bought my copy and I encourage everyone to do the same. You can buy it directly from 21361.com's online store. Click here to go to that specific item. According to Henry's Dispatches, "Fanatic! II" is in the works for the 2006 broadcast so keep an eye out for that in the next few months. For whatever it's worth, here's a link to get to the playlist on the official site in a way that allows you to scroll down and get to the earlier ones. - Mon Jun 11, 09:37:00 PM EDT
