March 7, 2006 - Special Guest : Heidi May

Holy shit!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Well, if you heard the show, you probably saw this coming. Another crass comment from me. I actually just want to convey my appreciation to Heidi and Henry for giving this site a shout out on tonight's show. The old site even got mentioned!!! I'm so excited/happy right now that I have no idea how I am going to get to sleep. Ah, well. Sleep is for wusses!
I've broken the show up even further than I usually do tonight. Smaller files make for faster downloads, don't you find?
Oh, and...two last things. 1) I am mildly traumatized by the first song played tonight. I don't know what to make of the whole throat singing thing at all. And just as I was recovering, Henry had to go and play Thor, of all things. It's going to take a few plays of Music For a New Society for me to feel okay again. Sleep, I fear you and I will never meet again...
2) Thirty-eight shows have been broadcast since May 17, 2004 -- why is it that the Spanish version of David Lee Roth's "Yankee Rose" is being played on the show for the first time tonight? That was some of the awesomest awesome that ever awesomed, if you ask me. Not that you did. But I've just spent valuable time typing all this crap out. I'm not about to delete it now. Ah, well. You can yell at me in the comment section if you want.

Hi Tara,
Thanks so much for continuing to upload Harmony in my Head. I live in Australia and it's a real treat to be able to come home from work and have another show to enjoy. Unfortunately I rarely get to hear the live broadcast. So I personally think you deserve all the compliments you receive. Your efforts are really appreciated.
Lap it up girl! ;)
As for the smaller file sizes, I agree they are more convenient, they download more quickly and you can start listening sooner. How's that for a win-win situation?
Anyway, I'll get out of your hair now.
I've gotta finish listening to Henry & Heidi!
You Rock,
Frances
Tara,
You deserve all the props you get for doing this, and you've been doing this since 2004 as well. No matter where I am in the world, I always get the shows from your website and it is very much appreciated. Thank you very much.
shout outs are oh so fun :)
Thanks as always..I missed last night due to a flight delay...
you rock!

Thanks so much for doing this. I really can't thank you enough.

Tara,
About throat singing... check out "Genghis Blues." Great documentary about the late Paul Pena. I knew nothing of throat singing until I saw it and I was blown away.

Thanks heaps for doing this. I'll be seeing Henry at his spoken word show in Germany in a couple of weeks. Am looking forward to it already
Man like you I am mildly traumatized by the opening song of the show....I really have no idea what to make of it. To me it sounded like one huge belch....and I'm not putting that stuff down. But it did kind of remind me of the 2nd Nerds movie where Booger and that guy meet and they have a bleching contest.
Tara,
Awesome as always. Thanx!
Did you ever listen to the Rollins KFI AM show I sent you? Here is another link Pureboredom
I would like to reiterate exactly what Chris Mansfield said.
And to thank Tara once again
Glad you got a shout out, you deserve it!
Henry should have you on the show at some point :)
Thanks for all of your sweet comments, guys.
Derek, I haven't had a chance to listen to the show you sent me yet.
palimpsest, I haven't been asked on the show and I can't see how anyone would be interested in me as a guest on the show, either. I'm just some fan of Henry's that archives the show. Nothing special.
Hey I just found out about this site, I've always been a huge Henry fan and was jealous of west coast peeps who could check HIMH out. So I just want to say thank you very much to Tara for running this.
Regarding this show...SUNN IS AWESOME! Butch Willis also floored me...kinda reminded me of old-school Ween, which Henry has professed love for in the past.
Gotta say...Deadboy didn't really do it for me, despite Henry's lauding.
Anyway...thanks again and I'll be visiting regularly from now on! Forgive my strain on your bandwidth while I catch up on all the stuff I've missed!
I guess i should have used a different name...i'm not the "Derek" that tara just referred to.
my vote is a big NO on smaller file sizes... higher quality mp3s are the way to go. yeah they take longer, but its worth it. some of us fanatics are archiving these for future listens should something happen to this site (Allah forbid), and in the end a little extra time downloading is time well spent.
mad props, by the way, to Tara. being able to hear/grab episodes of Henry's show any old time one feels like it is way cool.
and also, yes it is true: Sunn o))) is a mighty and grimm black force to be reckoned with. miss their live show at thine own peril.
It's not a sound quality issue. I simply the cut the show up more than I usually do to create smaller files that download more quickly because bandwidth is something I always have to take into consideration.
Much thanks. It would REALLY suck if Mr. Rollins was only available online while I was at work. Now I can ACTUALLY hear the show on a night off.
